Highway reopened after frozen goods truck rollover near Wānaka

The truck was carrying chilled and frozen goods.

A section of state highway near Wānaka has been reopened after a truck carrying chilled and frozen goods rolled overnight.

Emergency services were called to State Highway 8, between Māori Point Rd and Bells Ln, at around 1.45am following reports that a truck had rolled.

A detour was in place while the trailer was emptied.

Police said there were no injuries, but the road was blocked. In an update at midday, NZ Transport Agency said the road was reopened.

All of the goods in the truck needed to be unloaded before it could be righted and towed.
