Three people have avoided serious injury in a horror Adelaide crash in which a car smashed into a tree on a suburban street.

The crash took place in Elizabeth North on Wednesday after the vehicle clipped a parked car.

Video showed the car lose control, start to roll before slamming into a tree.

9News reported there were three people in the car — including a child — all sustaining minor injuries.

The driver, a 40-year-old man, allegedly blew a positive breath/alcohol test result.

"The car was upside down and half his body was inside the car, half his body was out, hanging on the road," a witness told 9News of the young passenger.

"I ran up and just grabbed him and just put him in my arms and ran up the road with this poor little kid."
