New Zealand have been knocked out of the under-20 championships in South Africa after being beaten by France 55-31 in the semifinals.
France got revenge against the Kiwis, who beat them 27-26 via a last-gasp penalty in the group stages, scoring two quick tries inside the first 10 minutes.
They ran into the sheds leading comfortably 34-14, before France's number eight Mathis Castro completed his hat-trick in the 45th minute.
Things only got worse for the Baby Blacks as winger Stanley Solomon was sent off in the 50th minute for head-on-head contact on a French player.
New Zealand will play against Ireland in the third place playoff game on Saturday at 2.30am NZT.
