Police release name of person who died in SH16 Auckland crash

Police have released the name of the person who died in a single vehicle crash on State Highway 16 at the weekend.

He was Connor James Lamb, 27, from Auckland.

Police have extended its condolences to his friends and family and say an investigation into the cause of the crash "remains ongoing."

The single-vehicle crash on SH16 near Stanley St was reported to police at around 8.45pm on Sunday.

At the time, a spokesperson said he had suffered "critical injuries" and had died at the scene.
