Two years on from their second disappearance, police believe the Phillips family is "hiding out" in Western Waikato within Marokopa or the surrounding areas.
Although the environment is challenging for investigators, police said they "continue to devote resources" to the search and following up reported sightings.
On January 2022, Tom Phillips, and his children Ember, Maverick and Jayda, were announced as missing for a second time by police.
It's believed Tom Phillips and one other person were behind the theft of a quad bike on Marokopa Rd in early November, and later smashed a shop window in Piopio.
In August, police released a photo of a disguised Phillips at a Hamilton Bunnings, and he was also linked to the robbery of a Te Kūiti bank in May 2023
"We continue to review existing evidence and new information, and appeal to the community to pass on any details that could help the three children be reunited with their family."
At this time, police have no plan to offer a reward.
"While we cannot comment on speculation about any assistance or support Phillips may be receiving, or rumours around the Te Kuiti bank robbery and who the possible accomplice could be, we have previously confirmed that Phillips is the suspect of the attempted burglary of the Piopio superette store."
Tom Phillips faces charges in relation to aggravated robbery, aggravated wounding, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Police consider him to be armed and he should not be approached.
"Sightings of Phillips should be reported to police by calling 111 immediately."
Phillips was first reported missing on September 11, 2021. The group returned home by September 30, and police said at the time they had been camping in dense bush.
The group was announced as missing again in January 2022 and have not returned home since.
Police said the investigation team working on their case have one focus: "To bring Ember, Maverick and Jayda home."
