Yanfei Bao murder accused appears in court

The man charged with kidnapping and murdering Christchurch real estate agent Yanfei Bao has made another appearance in the High Court.

Tingjun Cao, 52, pleaded not guilty to the charges in September.

Bao vanished from the suburb of Hornby in July.

Despite extensive police searches across the city and rural areas, the 44-year-old is still missing. Cao appeared by audio-visual link this morning.

He has been remanded in custody until his next appearance in February.

A trial date has been set for October next year.
