A person in Britain has passed their driver's licence test after 60 attempts — breaking the record for the most tries ever made in the UK.
The successful theory test took place at a centre in Redditch, Worcestershire, the Guardian reports.
The theory test comes in two parts which must be taken on the same day. The first is a multiple-choice test based on the road rules, while the second focuses on hazard perception, GOV.UK said on its website.
One person, who was not identified, spent £1380 (NZ$2824) and around 60 hours before successfully passing on their 60th try, according to data from the AA Driving School.
However, other drivers have also struggled, with one person making 57 attempts before passing in Hull, East Yorkshire.
The data comes from learner drivers who passed their theory tests in the first half of 2023.
After passing the theory test, learner drivers in the UK must then pass a 40-minute practical test before receiving their licence.
