A 1News investigation into the global events company CSM Live has found it's still yet to pay some signage and printing businesses.

It’s been a day of investigating after companies were left out of pocket for their work during the FIFA World Cup, international reactions to New Zealand's changing smokefree laws, and Chlöe Swarbrick slamming the new government.

1 Delayed FIFA World Cup payments paid back to NZ firm

Multiple companies across New Zealand and Australia claim they're still waiting to be paid more than half a million dollars in total for their work during the FIFA Women's World Cup.

A 1News investigation into the global events company CSM Live has found it's still yet to pay some signage and printing businesses. However one company has now been paid back, but not in full. 

Fiona Hunter owns OG Print in Dunedin and was  still waiting to be paid over $200,000. 

She said she's now been paid back $120,000, and expects the rest of the money to be in her account next week.

The BBC have labelled it a "shock reversal", saying health experts have strongly criticised the decision.

Green Party MP Chlöe Swarbrick has let rip at the new Government's priorities this morning, comparing the coalition's policies to "hot takes from your uncle at Christmas".

"It's definitely not the government of low wage workers, renters, or anybody who sits on the margins of our society," she said. "The priorities of the incoming government should be dealing with the dual crises of inequality and the climate crisis.

4 Air NZ flight diverted after smell of gas inside cabin

Air New Zealand's David Morgan said customers of flight NZ5060 disembarked the aircraft as a "precaution" in Hamilton, as part of standard operating procedure after the crew noticed the smell of gas inside the cabin.

The flight was headed to Auckland.
