A Whangārei real estate agent changes his job once a week, as he puts down the open home signs and becomes a delivery driver.
Once a week Steve Sharp drops by Whangārei Hospital to leave the doctors and nurses a sweet muffin treat for their morning tea.
Reanne, an accident and emergency room nurse, said she knows about the muffins, but she doesn't know who dropped them off or why they are there.
"It is hard work at times and just that show of gratitude by literally a muffin, makes it all worth while," she said.
What they don't know is what the hospital means to Sharp and his family — the hospital staff saved his wife's life, as she had complications from blood poisoning.
"When you are sitting there for so long and you are watching people around you... it gives you a new appreciation," Sharp said.

His wife was in the hospital for months on end, with Sharp at her side the whole time.
Sharp has been delivering the baked treats for two years.
"It makes their day, just getting a simple muffin."
Sharp didn't want acknowledgement for delivering the treats, and doesn't leave notes or business cards.
But his colleagues saw what he did and now they are also delivering treats around Whangārei to different community groups.
