Two people are critically injured after a car collided with a truck near Matamata this evening.

Police said the crash was reported at 5pm today at the intersection of Diagonal Road and McLaren Road.

Two people were critically injured while another person suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash.

Police said diversions are in place and motorists should avoid the area.
