One dead after early morning crash in Tauranga

One person is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Tauranga.

Police were notified of the crash on Maunganui Rd just after 2am on Monday.

Police said the car had collided with a power pole. The driver, the only occupant, died at the scene.

An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
