Those who give, often do so because they know what it's like to be on the receiving end.
That's the case for Jacqui and Bevan Morland.
When their son Tom needed life-saving surgery, their Greytown community rallied around them.
Ever since, the Morlands have set about giving back and paying forward in every way they can.
Which is why they're this week's Good as Gold recipients.
Locals describe the couple as “amazing, giving and kind”. The Principal of Tom’s school, Simon Fuller, says Bevan is “an amazing sports coach, he gives up time to coach our boy's hockey team, and our girl's hockey team, coaches all the cricket, then he comes in once a year to sit in with me and run a Dragon's Den."
Tom has epilepsy and has had countless trips to hospital.
He owes his life - four times over - to Life Flight, a charity his family works tirelessly to support.
Seven Sharp visited the Morlands to surprise them with the news ASB wants to donate $4,000 to Life Flight.
But that’s not all. ASB also gave the family $6,000 to take a break from all the giving and for touching a community who wanted to honour them.
