Cyclist dies following crash involving car in Darfield, Canterbury

A cyclist has died overnight after a crash involving a car in Darfield, west of Christchurch, yesterday. 

Police were called to the crash on SH73 near Creyke Road about 3.15pm on Wednesday.

"Our thoughts are with their families and loved ones," police said in a statement today.

Police inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
