Hawke's Bay coach Mark Ozich is stoked his team managed to bring the Ranfurly Shield back to the region but after their hero's welcome this morning, it's time to get back to business.
The Magpies reclaimed the Log o Wood for the third time in seven years thanks to a 28-9 win over Otago in Dunedin yesterday - a win Ozich said his team rightfully celebrated.
"We celebrated in the changing room together and enjoyed each other's company," Ozich said.
"The boys went a bit further but managed to all get on the plane so pretty happy... it was probably a good thing it was an early flight."
Celebrating aside though, Ozich now wants his team to refocus for this week's game against North Harbour, who picked up their first win of the season with a 40-24 upset over Premiership leaders Tasman last round.
"We've got North Harbour and a short turnaround," Ozich said.
"We play them on Saturday and it's already Monday so we've just got to get the balance right - we enjoyed last night but we're moving forward."
Saturday's game won't be a Ranfurly Shield defence though - the first province that'll get a shot at the Log o Wood is Northland a week later.
Hawke's Bay currently sit first in the Mitre 10 Cup Championship with three wins from four matches.
