Black Caps veteran Ross Taylor accepted his ESPN Cricinfo award today for the best ODI innings in 2018.
Taylor scored an unbeaten 181 runs in his side's fourth ODI win against England in March last year in Dunedin - while on one leg.
"It was probably a year ago, so I can't really remember too much," said Taylor.
"The physio came out and said what the thoughts are, and I said 'I'll try and smack it, it will come off.'
"I guess once you start hitting it out of the middle, there was only one decision and that was to stay out there."
Taylor brought up his century from 98 balls, on his way to scoring his highest ODI total as NZ chased down England's 339.
The Black Caps batsman expects a tough challenge from Bangladesh on Thursday, in his side's first Test at Seddon Park in Hamilton.
"It's normally a pretty good wicket, it was good to see the Bangladesh bowlers during the series and I'm sure they'll put us under some pressure."
