LA Rams wide receiver Brandin Cooks has shouted a team cleaner and his son to the Super Bowl.
Cooks gave Alfonso Garcia tickets and also organised flights and accommodation in Atlanta for Super Bowl 53 against the New England Patriots.
"Alfonso, the guy is special, man," Cooks told media.
"He keeps our locker room in tip-top shape. He has such a special soul. Someone that I found myself drawn to once I got there and I see him around the facility all the time."
"I just felt like it would be special for him to see that he is part of this success, as well, and I wanted him to be able to be at the Super Bowl with his son and enjoy it."
The story was initially told to media by Cooks’ fellow receiver Robert Woods.
"I walked by and just happened to see that encounter, that's the type of teammate he is, and a leader," Woods said.
Cooks, who visited NZ last year, was concussed playing for the Patriots in their Super Bowl loss to Philadelphia last year before being traded to Los Angeles.
