The Auckland Tuatara have secured a major coup ahead of their inaugural season in the Australian Baseball League, signing Colorado Rockies prospect Taylor Snyder.
The 24-year old was drafted by the Rockies in the 2016 Major League Baseball draft, and is a strong second or third baseman.
In a media release, Snyder spoke of his excitement at heading for a season down in New Zealand.
"I am really looking forward to it," he said.
"I don't know a whole ton about it. I have a teammate at the Rockies who plays with Canberra - he's a catcher Robbie Perkins - and I have talked to him a lot about it and got to know the league a little bit from him.
"It sounds like the fan base and everything that goes on there is a blast."
The Auckland Tuatara begin their inaugural season next month.
