Serious crash between man and car forces closure of State Highway 27 near Ngarua in the Waikato

State Highway 27 near Ngarua in the Waikato has been closed after a man was reportedly hit by a car.

The man suffered serious injuries after being hit near the intersection of Ngarua Road at approximately 6.45pm.

State Highway 27 is currently closed between Maungakawa Road and Diagonal Road.

The Serious Crash Unit has been notified.
