You may remember her face from TVNZ2's Shortland Street when she played Pixie, but 17-year-old Thomasin Harcourt-Mckenzie may soon be set for Hollywood stardom thanks to her latest role.
The Wellingtonian was named as a "break-out star" at the Sundance Film festival for her performance in the US film Leave No Trace.
We won't ruin the plot for you but essentially it's a gritty tale about a renegade Dad who turns his back on the world for life in the bush with his teenage daughter.
The movie had its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January in front of a thousand strong crowd.
It was the first time Thomasin had seen it on the big screen too - alongside some of the toughest critics in the business.
"You're just nervous about that response," the rising Kiwi actor told TVNZ1's Seven Sharp.
She needn't have worried, the reaction was resoundingly positive with Thomasin's performance described as breath-taking.
"A star making performance," yelled Vanity Fair. "The discovery of yet another young talent," declared Variety.
She comes from great acting pedigree, her mum is actor and acting coach Miranda Harcourt and her grandmother is Dame Kate Harcourt who was knighted for her service to theatre.
Now 90, Dame Kate and Thomasin share a love of music, as well as the granny flat in the basement of the family home.
"She's a great [flatmate] I worry that I keep her awake with the radio. I can hear her snoring though," Dame Kate said of living with Thomasin.
Leave No Trace will be playing at the New Zealand International Film Festival which begins on July 19.
