'May the Fourth be with you' - Wellington tattoo parlour celebrates Star Wars Day with free tattoos

A Wellington tattoo parlour team, "crazy for Star Wars", celebrated May The Fourth by giving away tattoos inspired by the series of films.

The team at Sinatra's Custom Tattoos in Wellington had more than 70 Star Wars fans sign up for a free tattoo yesterday.

Despite tattooing for free, the artists were accepting any donations, which will later be given to the Child Cancer Foundation.

While tattooing his dad, owner of Sinatra's Custom Tattoos, Kyle Dyhrberg explained to 1 NEWS that the day is an opportunity to relive special childhood memories. 

"Me, my brother and sister were all brought up on movies and you know, the Friday nights getting taken to the movies, so Star Wars has always been one of those things that's been big for us. It holds a lot of memories."
