Watch: Motorist catches dangerous overtaking move on camera near Wellington

A complaint has been filed with police after a motorist caught another driver passing him dangerously on a corner - narrowly missing an oncoming car.

The incident took place yesterday on the Rimutaka Hill road north of Upper Hutt, where a grey Honda can be seen performing the dangerous manoeuvre.

Tim Wright was filming using a dash camera, and claims the driver was tailgating him so closely that he couldn't see the licence plate, Stuff reports.

"I've seen a bit of bad driving on the road here regularly, so it gets you worried," Mr Wright said.

Police told Stuff that they have been made aware of the incident and are investigating.
