Northland ticket holder $8.3 million richer after striking Lotto Powerball jackpot

A lucky Northland ticket-holder has struck the jackpot, winning $8.3 million in tonight's Lotto draw.  

The winning ticket was sold on MyLotto and is made up of $8 million from Powerball First Division and $333,333 from Lotto First Division.

This win follows on from a $12.5 million Powerball prize won by a Wairarapa couple in early March. 

The couple held onto their winning ticket for over a week before claiming their prize.

Two lucky players from Taranaki and Amberley in North Canterbury will also be celebrating after each winning $333,333 with Lotto First Division in tonight's draw. 

Those winning tickets were sold at Countdown Amberley and to a player on MyLotto in Taranaki.
