Kiwi squash star Joelle King has opened up on her feelings heading into the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast next month.
King, 29, headlines New Zealand's chances for a medal on the Gold Coast, seeded second for the women's singles competition.
Speaking to 1 NEWS this morning, King spoke about her feelings going into the games, having also competed in Glasgow 2014.
"I had a major injury after the last games - I was out for nearly a year," she said.
"Through that year I actually got a really fresh perspective of how much I love the game, and how well I wanted to do."
"I've probably played the best squash of my career this last year, so I don't want to go to the games and let myself down after playing so well."
"I'll be doing everything I can to play well."
