Security measures stepped up in New York's Times Square ahead of New Year's Eve celebrations

Police security has been stepped up in New York with more than a million visitors expected to gather in the city on New Year’s Eve.

Officers will take to the streets and the skies to help keep revellers safe.

It follows the Las Vegas attack in October, where 58 people were killed by a lone gunman.
