Pedestrian dead after hit by truck in Hamilton

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a truck in Hamilton this morning. 

Senior Sergeant Simon Cherry told Stuff a woman had died at the scene. 

Police said it happened at 11.15am on Ruakura Road, which has been closed from the Wairere Drive end. 

Diversions have been put in place. 

Police are investigating.
