Watch: Aussie cops release harrowing vision of 'crazy' drivers recklessly overtaking, in bid to avoid road deaths

December 19, 2017

South Australian police have taken to Facebook in the hopes of preventing dangerous driving over the holidays.

One video captured by a dashcam in Adelaide shows a number of drivers crossing the centre line to overtake other vehicles, narrowly missing oncoming traffic.

The police shared this video to Facebook with a message "shaming" the drivers in the footage, as well as sending a message to drivers for them drive sensibly and show common sense on the road.

In one piece of footage, a reckless driver illegally overtakes as two officers on motorbikes approach in the other direction.

Police described the actions of the driver as "crazy" and "irresponsible".

In another incident on the same piece of road, two motorcyclists overtake a driver, prompting a car to follow suit, narrowly missing an oncoming van.

Police said in each of the four cases the drivers were seconds away from crashes which could have killed them and innocent drivers around them.
