Patient improves in hospital following horrifying triple-fatal crash near Whangarei

One person has been upgraded from being in a serious condition to being stable at Whangarei Hospital and another has been discharged after a triple-fatality crash in Northland yesterday.

Three cars and a truck were involved in the accident, which took place about 11.15am yesterday on State Highway 1 at Oakleigh.

Two females and one male died in the crash, police said.
