All Blacks midfielder Ngani Laumape believes Taranaki will be a difficult team to overcome, but said his Manawatu side will not get overawed by the occasion, preparing for the Ranfurly Shield challenge tomorrow night in New Plymouth like any other game.

Laumape, 24, has been part of the All Blacks' Rugby Championship campaign, but has only played limited game time in the black jersey.

He says he's looking forward to being back out on the rugby pitch for his province.

"Looking forward to the occasion and just playing footy," said Laumape

"I'm just looking forward to playing again and getting to play with some of my best friends."

After being selected for the All Blacks in June, Lauampe hopes to implement all his learnings in the New Zealand camp for the Turbos.

"It's been awesome. I've learned a lot and it's time to go out there tomorrow night and express all the things I have learned."

Manawatu's match against Taranaki kicks off at 7.35pm at Yarrow Stadium.
