Cowboys' NRL star Jason Taumalolo has reportedly opted to play for Tonga at this month's Rugby League World Cup, withdrawing from the New Zealand Kiwis team today.
Sources have confirmed and told 1 NEWS that Taumalolo has chosen to play for Tonga, the team he represented at the 2013 World Cup.

The Kiwis side will be without playmaker Kieran Foran who withdrew from the tournament due to a leg injury.
Melbourne prop Jesse Bromwich and Gold Coast second rower Kevin Proctor were stood down from the tournament after their involvement in a cocaine scandal from this year’s ANZAC Test in Canberra.
Taumalolo will be up against the Kiwis on November 11 at Hamilton's Waikato Stadium.
