Friends, family and the rugby and military communites have taken to social media to pay tribute to Logan Cadwallader after the All Blacks head of security died in Edinburgh while on tour with the national side.
All Blacks head coach Dave Rennie said the team was struggling to come to terms with the loss after Cadwallader suffered a medical event on Sunday morning at the squad's hotel.
Attack coach Mike Blair told Scottish media that "it's been a tough couple of days".
"Logan was a big part of the All Blacks for 10 years, very close with players and management," he said.
All Blacks players were among those who remembered Cadwallader as a fierce protector and friend, with players describing him as a "kind-hearted" workhorse and a "bloody all-round good bloke".
Injured captain Ardie Savea called Cadwallader "my brother", posting a photo on his social media telling the security chief to rest in love.

Yesterday, National MP Mark Mitchell released a statement reflecting on his friendship with Cadwallader, reminiscing on this year's ANZAC Day.
Cadwallader served in the New Zealand Army and was a former special forces soldier.
"He was just such a good man. A loyal friend to his mates and a loving husband and father," Mitchell said.
"Next ANZAC day won’t be the same without you Caddy. We will be toasting you."

Savelio Francis Savelio, an army colleague of Cadwallader, said the memories they shared will "out live my life time".
"My heart absolutely breaks for your beautiful family Caddy, I have no words, just a heavy heart brother. Much love."
Rugby had always been a huge part of Cadwallader's life, having previously played for North Shore Rugby Football Club.
The club acknowledged his legacy while also mentioning Cadwallader's son Trey, who who had pulled on their jersey.
"A proud North Shore man; a championship-winning player and a teammate and friend to many at the Club," they said in a social media post.
"To Trey his son, who captained our U85 side in years gone by and family our thoughts are with you."
Although a family statement has not been released, Trey Cadwallader commented on an All Blacks tribute to his father, saying "Best All Black to not wear a jersey, love ya dad".
