Someone has left what appears to be an old caravan or camper fit-out at the freedom camping site in Lowburn - including the kitchen sink.
Land and Information New Zealand (LINZ) shared an image online from one of the four freedom camping sites it manages at Lake Dunstan in Central Otago.
"Renovating the camper? Great. Dumping the old fit-out at Lowburn? Not so great," it wrote.
A LINZ spokesperson said the group tended to see more rubbish being dumped in areas such as Lowburn heading into the busier summer period.
"It’s a community space for everyone to enjoy, not somewhere to leave unwanted gear and pass the clean-up bill on to the public," they said.
"Please take your rubbish with you and dispose of it properly. And if you see someone dumping rubbish, report it to us."
