Double injury blow for All Blacks ahead of Bledisloe Cup Tests

Richie Mo'unga and Fehi Fineanganofo have been ruled out of this weekend's test.

The All Blacks have suffered a major injury blow, with both Richie Mo'unga and Fehi Fineanganofo ruled out of the upcoming Bledisloe Cup Tests.

Fineanganofo suffered a concussion and a hamstring strain in Bay of Plenty's match against North Harbour in the final round of the NPC regular season.

"While he passed the original head injury assessment (HIA) during the game, he has failed subsequent assessments, meaning he will have a mandatory 12-day stand-down period," an All Blacks spokesperson said.

"Scan results have also confirmed an upper hamstring injury."

Scans revealed a tear after Mo'unga injured his calf during the squad's training session on Tuesday.

"His return to play is yet to be determined and will be dependent on his functional progression over the coming weeks."

Fineanganofo will be replaced by Canterbury and Crusaders back Chay Fihaki, while no decision has been made on whether injury cover will be brought in for Mo'unga.

The All Blacks will play the first test against the Wallabies at Eden Park on Saturday at 7.10pm. Dave Rennie will name his side for the match later today.
