Police say a road in west Auckland is likely to be blocked for a "significant amount of time" following a two-car crash which injured four people this morning.
Officers responded to the serious, two-car crash on Red Hills Road in Massey around 11.30am.
St John confirmed it sent three ambulances, one rapid response unit and one operations manager to the scene.
"Our ambulance staff treated four patients and transported one of them to Auckland City Hospital in a serious condition.
"The other three patients were transported to Waitakere Hospital in moderate conditions," a St John spokesperson said.
A police spokesperson said the road remained blocked, and the Serious Crash Unit has been advised.
"Motorists are advised to avoid the area and follow directions from traffic management for diversions," police said.
The road was likely to be blocked for "a significant amount of time".
