Police carrying out an Auckland search warrant discovered a suspected burglar hiding under a pile of clothes.
CCTV and fingerprints discovered at the scenes of multiple central Auckland supermarket burglaries led police to a Ponsonby address on August 14.
Police were seeking a Black Power member, believed to be responsible for the series of aggravated assault and shoplifting offences.
His partner was also wanted for shoplifting.
On arrival, police arrested a non-co-operative woman, and after some "hide-and-seek" also nabbed the man who was hidden under a pile of clothes in the wardrobe.
Sergeant Tash Dallow said the pair were alleged to have stolen $9000 worth of meat and sold it in exchange for methamphetamine and cash.
A 40-year-old male has been charged with shoplifting, three counts of burglary and aggravated assault. A 43-year-old woman has also been charged with shoplifting.
The pair are expected to appear in Auckland District Court on October 14 and August 20 respectively.
