White House aide Natalie Harp cited in Trump and Democratic senator feud

White House aide Natalie Harp is pictured during a meeting to sign an executive order about vaccines, Monday, August 10, 2026, in the Oval Office of the White House in Washington.

White House aide Natalie Harp has been drawn into a feud brewing between Democratic senator Jon Ossoff and US President Donald Trump ahead of the midterms.

Last week, it was revealed the 35-year-old executive assistant was among a handful of aides chosen to accompany Trump during a secret operation to switch planes as he left a NATO summit in Türkiye last month.

On July 8, Trump was filmed boarding Air Force One before hiding in an airline catering truck to be taken to a military aircraft after the US detected a credible Iranian assassination threat, according to White House officials.

The Republican president was joined by Harp, Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, White House director of Oval Office operations Walt Nauta and deputy chief of staff Dan Scavino.

On Sunday, Ossoff – who is up for re-election in November – referenced Harp during a rally in Atlanta.

"While the sailors on the Lincoln fight his war, while he fruitlessly drains our munitions and oil reserves, the president sleeps through his meetings, he golfs, and trades stocks,” Ossoff said.

"He doesn’t want to do the job. He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenceless flying palace gifted by the Emir of Qatar."

When asked by a reporter about Ossoff’s comments, Trump responded by comparing the Georgia lawmaker to a 1980s comedy character.

"You mean Pee-Wee Herman? Pee-Wee Herman-lookalike," Trump said, adding that the mammoth East Wing project was "much more than a ballroom".

White House communications director Steven Cheung took to social media to attack Ossoff – touted to be a possible candidate in the 2028 US presidential election – who he called the “biggest c**k loser in politics”.

"Instead of denigrating hard-working people serving their country, Jon should look deep into his soul and ask himself why he’s a miserable person who hates this country," Cheung wrote on X.

"It’s because he’s a radical, extremist Dumocrat."
