Two people have died and one person has been injured in a crash between a car and a motorcycle in Rotorua last night.
Police were called to the scene near the intersection of Te Ngae Rd and Rotokawa Rd, next to Rotorua Airport, at about 9.40pm on Friday.
"Sadly, the motorcycle’s driver and passenger were located deceased at the scene," a police spokesperson said.
The road was closed while the serious crash unit carried out a scene examination, and it reopened about 5.40am today.
St John responded at 9.41pm with one ambulance and one rapid response unit.

"One patient in a moderate condition had been transported to Rotorua Hospital," a St John spokesperson said.
Inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
