One person has been taken to hospital in a moderate condition after a car crashed through the front of a sportswear store in Pāpāmoa Beach in the Bay of Plenty this afternoon.
Police were called to the single-vehicle crash on Gravatt Rd at around 3.10pm on Friday.
St John said two ambulances responded, and three patients were assessed at the scene.
"One of those [was] transported to Tauranga Hospital by ambulance in a moderate condition," a St John spokesperson said. "The other two patients did not require transport to hospital."
A witness told 1News a woman believed she was in reverse when the car went forward and crashed into the front of the Under Armour store.
Photos provided to 1News show the vehicle embedded in the shopfront, with broken glass and twisted metal framing strewn across the footpath.
