Vogel's products recalled over concerns of 'small metal pieces'

The products were sold in supermarkets in the South Island, MPI said.

Several Vogel's bread products sold in the South Island have been recalled as they may contain "small metal pieces".

The six recalled products had a best-before date of August 15 and were sold at supermarkets in the South Island.

They included Vogel’s Original Mixed Grain Very Thin (750g), Vogel’s Original Mixed Grain Sandwich (750g), Vogel’s Original Mixed Grain Toast (750g), Vogel’s Dark Rye Toast (720g), Vogel’s Sprouted Whole Grain Toast (720g), and Vogel’s Fruit and Spice Extra Thick (720g).

There have been no reported injuries.

Customers who bought the breads were asked to check the best before date on the tag.

"Affected products should not be consumed," the Ministry of Primary Industries said.

"If you consumed these products and have any concerns about your health, seek medical advice."

Customers can return the loaves to retailers for a full refund.
