A man has been arrested following an alleged aggravated robbery in Auckland's Onehunga early this morning.
Police said the victim was approached on State Ave at around 6.10am on Thursday by an offender allegedly carrying a firearm, who demanded the keys to their black Volkswagen.
The offender then fled the scene in the stolen vehicle.
"Thankfully, the victim was not injured," said Detective Senior Sergeant Rebecca Kirk.
Kirk said the stolen vehicle was tracked by motorway cameras as it travelled through Highbrook.
"With the assistance of Eagle, the stolen vehicle and the offender were located in Beachlands,” she said.
Beachlands is an outer suburb of Auckland and is located around 30km from Onehunga.
A 20-year-old man was arrested without incident.
Police said a firearm was recovered during a search of the stolen vehicle, and charges were pending.
