'Unexplained' death in Gisborne sparks investigation

Residents can expect to see an increased police presence after a body was found at a property in Gisborne in the early hours of this morning.

Police said emergency services were called to an address on Crawford Road in Kaiti just before 1.50am.

"Upon arrival, a person was located deceased inside the property," Detective Senior Sergeant John Love said.

An investigation was launched, and the death was being treated as "unexplained".

"The public can expect to see an increased Police presence in the area over the coming days as investigations continue."

Police urged anyone with information that could help to call 105.
