A person has been seriously injured in an altercation involving a stabbing in Auckland's Glenfield last night.
Waitematā CIB Detective Inspector Megan Goldie said officers were called to a report of an assault on Valley View Rd just before 8pm.
"On scene, a man was located with a stab wound," she said.
"Based on our inquiries, parties known to each other had been gathered at the address when an altercation took place resulting in the man receiving his injuries."

He remained in a stable condition at Auckland City Hospital.
The 45-year-old man arrested at the scene was charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He would appear in the North Shore District Court today.

St John said it sent one rapid response vehicle, one road ambulance and one operations manager to the incident.
One patient in a serious condition was transported to Auckland Hospital by 8.15pm.
