Ute gets stuck in Dunedin sinkhole

Emergency services have responded after a ute got stuck in a small sinkhole in Dunedin early this morning.

A Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) spokesperson said it was alerted to a vehicle stuck in a sinkhole in Musselburgh, Dunedin City via a 111 call at 4.30am.

The spokesperson said the front wheel of the ute was stuck, and there were no reported injuries.

FENZ said it assisted at the scene, alongside police.

Police confirmed officers were called to Andersons Bay Rd, near Portobello Rd.

"There were no injuries. The council has been called to assess the road," a police spokesperson said.

An image provided to 1News by Rae Farrell showed a vehicle with its right front tyre submerged in water.
