Arrest made after aggravated burglary in Auckland's Weymouth

The man arrested will appear in Manukau District Court today.

A 26-year-old-man has been arrested following an aggravated robbery in Auckland's Weymouth last night.

Detective Inspector Karen Bright said police received a report at around 9.15pm of a group of people who had allegedly forced entry into a property on Cade Place armed with weapons. Police said guns were not involved.

"A number of items were taken, before they fled the scene," Bright said.

"A short time later police performed a vehicle stop in Clendon Park and one person was taken into custody in relation to the burglary."

Bright said inquiries remain ongoing to identify and locate the others involved.

The man arrested will appear in Manukau District Court today.
