Two people have been seriously injured following a two-vehicle collision in Hastings this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the crash on Waimarama Rd, between McLean and Matangi roads at around 3.45pm.
"The road is likely to remain closed for some time while emergency services work at the scene," a police spokesperson said.
Traffic management was in place at motorists were advised to expect delays.
Inquiries into the circumstances of the crash were ongoing.
