Search to resume for man reported missing in Lake Tekapo

Senior Sergeant Hamish Keer-Keer said emergency services were called around 8pm yesterday amid reports the man entered the water and had not resurfaced.

A search will resume this morning for a man who failed to resurface after going into Lake Tekapo last night.

Senior Sergeant Hamish Keer-Keer said emergency services were called around 8pm yesterday amid reports the man entered the water and had not resurfaced.

"Police search and rescue staff, along with Coastguard Mackenzie Lakes volunteers, Fire and Emergency New Zealand, and a helicopter, all deployed and conducted a search," he said.

"Sadly, the man has not been located."

The search will resume this morning.
