Former Silver Fern Jane Watson has announced her retirement from professional netball, bringing an end to a 15-year career at the highest level.
Watson's achievements include a World Cup, a Constellation Cup, dual ANZ Premiership titles and dual Premiership Player of the Year awards.
This year, Watson moved across the Tasman to play in the Super Netball competition, however injuries limited her involvement.
"This game has given me more than I ever could have imagined," she said.
"I've been lucky enough to experience unforgettable moments, build great friendships and have the honour of representing New Zealand doing something I love.
"While I'm stepping away from the court, I'll always be grateful for everything netball has given me. I leave with a full heart, legs back intact and so much appreciation for everyone who has been part of the journey. I'm so excited for this next chapter and for the opportunity to spend more time at home with the people I love most."
Watson won ANZ Premiership titles with the Southern Steel in 2017 and the Mainland Tactix in 2025.
She played 66 times for New Zealand.
The 36-year-old defender will step away at the end of the season.
