Man arrested after East Auckland assault leaves one in critical condition

A man was arrested following an assault in East Auckland overnight that left one person in critical condition.

Police were called to Picton Street in Howick just after 1am, where a person was found with serious injuries.

St John said it transported a person to Auckland Hospital in a critical condition.

A 32-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault with intent to injure.

He was due to appear in the Manukau District Court on Monday.
