Former Silver Fern Gina Crampton has linked up with the Tactix on a short-term injury cover contract.
The 34-year-old, who has more than 70 international caps, is replacing captain Erikana Pedersen who suffered a serious shoulder injury in round three.
Crampton arrives in Christchurch fresh off a stint in the Australian Super Netball League where she was playing for the New South Wales Swifts on a maternity cover contract.
Tactix general manager Kate Agnew told 1News the franchise is "very excited" to have acquired a player of Crampton's calibre.
"Her experience to be able to supplement and support and help grow our midcourt - which is actually very young [is key]," she said.
Crampton, who arrived in Christchurch on Tuesday night, is on a two-week contract for now.
After that it will be on a week-by-week basis, depending on how Pedersen is progressing with her recovery.
