New Zealand's petrol and diesel stocks have increased, while jet fuel has dipped again, according to the latest update from the Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment.
The latest data, pulled from fuel companies, showed New Zealand had 59 days of petrol cover as of 11.59pm on Sunday, 10 May. This was an increase from the previous reported 51 days.
The stock was made up of 29.6 days in-country, 5.1 days at sea in New Zealand's exclusive economic zone, and 24.3 days en route and up to three weeks away.
Diesel supply was also up, with 45.2 days of coverage, and an increase from the previous 44.3 days. In the country, there were 22.3 days, with 1.6 days within the economic zone, and 21.3 days of coverage up to three weeks away.
Jet fuel was down by nearly four days worth of supply, falling to 50.2 days from 54.1. There were 28.4 days in the country, 1.2 days in the economic zone, and 20.6 days outside the economic zone, but still on its way.
The ministry said the supply chain was "operating smoothly, and fuel is continuing to flow into the country as expected".
"Fuel importers have provided good confidence through confirmed orders to late June, with planned orders extending into early August."
It said stocks remained "well above" minimum levels.
The ministry has been updating New Zealand's fuel stocks every Monday and Wednesday, tracking how many days of supply New Zealand has across petrol, diesel and jet fuel amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
