Singer Bonnie Tyler has been placed into an induced coma following emergency surgery.
Aspokesperson told the Guardian the 74-year-old was rushed to a hospital near her home in Faro, Portugal, for intestinal surgery.
She was initially recuperating well, but a further update said she had been placed into an induced coma to "aid her recovery".
“We know that you all wish her well and ask for privacy at this difficult time please," the spokesperson said.
“We will issue a further statement when we are able to.”
Known for her husky voice, the Grammy-nominated singer sang hits like Total Eclipse Of The Heart, Holding Out for a Hero, It’s A Heartache, and If You Were A Woman (And I Was A Man).
